We are delighted To announce a new initiative address strategic
topics of the moment in Life and Pensions, Investment and Banking
with other sectors considered in the future.
We felt that three factors created a gap in the current Conference
market:
- the “packed Agenda” format constricting speakers,
particularly when the Media may be present
- audience numbers often over 50, making REAL debate, learning and
conceptualisation impossible
- inadequate vehicles for development of genuinely senior staff
So, we have created a series of Forums as a completely different,
“ground up”, answer to these needs. The ethos of the
Forums will be solution-oriented, at the very least giving attendees
“brain food”.
Forums will follow the same generic pattern:
- held over one day, at a country house location near London, accessible
to airports and railway stations
- a maximum of 5 speakers and 40 attendees only, to encourage real
debate and learning, with at least 20 minutes available for discussion
in depth.
- no commercial sponsors or other exhibitors with “Chatham
House” rule at all events
- feature speakers not usually heard on the usual circuits, but
who are experts and polemicists in their fields, to encourage debate
and new insights
- attendance by invitation only, with the expectation that over
time a invite to attend a Forum will become very valuable
- invitations primarily aimed at the direct reports of main Board
or Divisional Directors and the Directors themselves. Invitations
will also be extended to known “thinkers” in the sector
who may not be speakers themselves
- media will be excluded to ensure confidentiality of debate and
attendees are asked not to disclose Forum content
The first Forum will address the future of retail distribution
in retail Financial Services in the UK and will be held on 3rd October
2007 at Pendley Manor in Hertfordshire.
